Indonesia-Japan Cooperation Project Almost Completed

Luhut said the government would give additional contracts to Inpex’s Masela for 7 years and not 10 years as requested by Inpex.

“Until now, they have asked for 10 years but we see a realistic figure of 7 years,” he said.

Maritim Indonesia-Japan Cooperation signed in this visit, is actually a continuation of President Jokowi talks with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe last year.

“This cooperation is to improve the maritime economy and promote cooperation between Indonesia – Japan in the marine industry. Japan already see opportunities to invest in Pulau Natuna Besar, in the East Natuna for energy, and in Sabang to the port. They will also invest in Morotai “.

In a meeting with reporters, the Minister Luhut said that the Japanese government has agreed to build the project semi-fast train from Jakarta to Surabaya, where the public-private partnership scheme (PPP) is one alternative being considered.

He said, based on the views of the Head of Bappenas Bambang Brodjonegoro, PPP scheme chosen for the value of the project is very large, but according to the Law railway line is the state-owned assets,
